Anne of Green Gables is getting a new anime treatment with Anne Shirley, and its release is coming sooner than you think!

NHK TV’s new adaptation of Anne of Green Gables measures up against both its iconic source material--and its 1970s anime predecessor.

Anne Shirley Episode 6 flawlessly adapts Anne's bold haircut from an iconic, pivotal scene in L. M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables novel.

An animated series aired on PBS in 2000, and the station also is set to air the Canadian TV movie L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables in November.
