1-Alaska Airlines has been flying to Hawaii for more than a decade: Alaska got its start flying to Hawaii on October 12, 2007 when it inaugurated flights between its Seattle hub and Honolulu.

Paine Field will soon have direct flights to Hawaii as Alaska Airlines will add daily nonstop service between Everett and Honolulu.

The daily, year-round flight marks Alaska's first new route to Honolulu in over a decade and its longest route from Paine Field. It starts in November.

Alaska Airlines launched its first flight between Seattle and Honolulu in October 2007, followed by service to Lihue, Kauai two weeks later.

Alaska Air dove into Hawaii when it picked up many routes flown by now-defunct Aloha Airlines, and with the acquisition of Virgin America, it expanded its presence on the islands.
