Chrysler parent Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA) is recalling 15,835 units of Fiat 124 Spider vehicles due to concerns of improper airbag deployment, U.S. auto safety regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday.

All of the 124 Spiders sold in the US market have been recalled over a software issue that causes the airbags to deploy with excessive force

Stellantis car brand Fiat is recalling 17,418 vehicles because of a software error that could cause airbags to deploy with excessive force in a crash, increasing the risk of severe neck injuries. This recall affects all 2017-20 Fiat 124 Spider models, according to documents filed with NHTSA.
