The Volkswagen Plant in Chattanooga has announced that they are cutting production at the Chattanooga plant and asking for voluntarily layoffs. They said in a full statement: “Volkswagen Group of America’s (VWGoA) Chattanooga plant will return to a primarily two-shift production model beginning on March 31.

A spokesperson for Volkswagen said it is cutting production in Tennessee to two shifts out of caution for weakened EV demand. Workers at the Tennessee plant assemble the ID.4 electric SUV, which was named North American SUV of the Year from the Automotive Press Association at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
