Gifford Fire initially started 3:44 p.m. Aug. 1 in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County, California. It has burned 132,605 acres after being active for 13 days. A crew of 4,946 firefighters has been working on site and, by Thursday evening, they managed to contain 51% of the fire. The cause is, however, still being investigated.

As the Gifford Fire stretches into a second week, the most intense portion of the massive blaze is taking place in South San Luis Obispo County, near the rural community of Huasna.
