Gov. Tony Evers is trying to expand his safe drinking water initiative and funding to combat PFAS in his biennial budget.

Gov. Tony Evers on Tuesday announced a $145 million budget proposal to address PFAS pollution across the state, an amount that more than doubles the money set aside in the last state budget to address the problem.

The city of Vancouver is continuing its efforts to remove man-made compounds known as “forever chemicals” from public drinking water.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers announced he will be proposing spending $145 million to address per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in the state’s drinking water in his biennial budget proposal. The funds will go toward testing and eliminating PFAS for both municipal systems and private wells.
