PATNA: Addressing the speculation over his possible switchover again Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said that he would remain in the NDA. "I will stay with the NDA," he told the media during his Pragati Yatra in Muzaffarpur.

As Bihar gears up for polls, all major parties, including the RJD and the NDA, have intensified their preparations.

The RJD has said that Lalu had made the remark "sarcastically" after he was pestered with the same query again and again. "But the fact is, Nitish Kumar is in dire straits. He has lost his credibility.

While speaking to reporters in the north Bihar district of Muzaffarpur, as part of a state-wide Pragati Yatra, Nitish Kumar quashed all rumours of joining hands with his former ally RJD in Bihar.

Political temperature in Bihar has once again heated up amid Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Yadav extending an offer to chief minister Nitish Kumar for realigning with his party even as the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) strongman on Thursday downplayed the offer while leader of the opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav too reiterated there was no chance of a tie-up.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday (Jan 4) reacted to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav said that "he made a mistake twice" in the past by joining hands with the RJD. Nitish Kumar's statement comes after Yadav on Wednesday said that he was ready to "forgive and welcome" Bihar Chief Minister Kumar to join the opposition INDIA bloc.

This comes after Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav's "door open" remarks fuelled speculations of another political drama in Bihar. "Our doors are open for Nitish Kumar. He should also unbolt his gates.
