The NBA Board of Governors has unanimously approved the sale of the controlling interests in the Boston Celtics to a group led by Bill Chisholm. The transaction is expected to close shortly, according to the league.

And with a talent like Jayson Tatum on the roster, it's difficult to envision the Celtics being out of the championship race for more than a year. However, it would appear that Pritchard and Co. aren't waiting for Tatum's return to make their mark.

The Atlantic Division rivals are grouped with the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, and another division foe, the Brooklyn Nets, in East Group B in the in-season tournament.
