After a weekend of celebration for the U.S. Army's 250th birthday, roads around the National Mall are finally back open, and crews have begun the process of restoring the area to normal.

The Unite for Veterans rally was a daylong event billed as a grassroots movement to activate veterans across the country to come together and oppose initiatives that include plans to lay off thousands of workers at the Department of Veterans Affairs in the summer.

Ourand explained that the NFL will sponsor a “Kids Zone” activation on the National Mall before Saturday’s military parade. Citing the festival map, Ourand pointed out that the NFL is the only brand mentioned.

President Donald Trump celebrated the "fighting spirit and unyielding force" of the American military in remarks following a parade in Washington, D.C. commemorating the 250th anniversary of the armed services that saw a grand showing of the military's power throughout the National Mall.

John Ourand of Puck reports that the NFL is sponsoring a “Kids Zone” on the National Mall before the military parade that coincides with someone’s birthday but that totally isn’t being held that day because of it.

The parade was the spectacle event Trump had long wanted. It also helped sparked the largest mass opposition to him since his inauguration 145 days earlier.
