Fashion retailer H&M has confiumed it will close its Edinburgh call centre by the end of the year, with 150 jobs losses expected. Workers at the company's Waverley Gate office were told in August of a proposal to shut the building due to the lease expiring in 2025.

H&M has confirmed that 150 colleagues will be leaving the company by the end of the year as the retailer prepares to close its Edinburgh-based call centre.

H&M will close its Edinburgh call centre by the end of the year, with 150 jobs losses expected. Staff at the Waverley Gate building were told in August about a proposal to shut the office, due to the lease expiring in 2025. The fashion retailer blamed increased competition, changing customer behaviours and operational costs for the change.

The company said several job losses were reduced by people being offered alternative roles, finding other employment, or choosing to leave voluntarily.
