West Coast, Best Coast? Florida’s Gulf Coast is showing off this summer, with circus-themed stays in Sarasota, luxurious new suites in Clearwater Beach, and nightly sunsets that outshine the last.
All eyes are on the Gulf this week as local weather services track a potential tropical development. There is currently a 30% chance of tropical development near the northern Gulf Coast. As of right now, the system is located just off the eastern coast of Florida.
AccuWeather forecasters are keeping an eye on an area close to Florida which shows some potential for tropical development July 15-18.

There have been three named storms in the Atlantic so far this season: Andrea, Barry, and of course, Chantal. All three storms were short-lived, and briefly reached tropical storm strength. Chantal is the only storm to make landfall in the United States.
