Forecasters are warning of early signs of a potential tropical cyclone developing along the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. A low-pressure system that could bring storms to Florida before moving west has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next several days,

The system could end up bringing a lot of rain to the Gulf Coast, including Alabama, according to forecasters. The National Hurricane Center said there is a 30 percent probability of a tropical depression forming in the next week in the Gulf, an increase from 20 percent the past few days.

A low pressure system near Florida has a 40% chance of developing into at least a tropical depression, according to the National Hurricane Center.
