The National Weather Service issued a flood watch effective from 4 p.m. Sunday to 4 p.m. Monday for areas in or near burn scars created by the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Hughes Fire and Bridge Fire, the latter blaze of which burned 56,000 acres last fall.

A flash-flood watch went into effect at 10 a.m. Sunday that includes fire-scarred areas of Souther California, with forecasters boosting their predictions for rainfall that carry the risk of significant flash flooding and debris.

A Sigalert was issued for several hours Monday morning after what looked like a lake formed on the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles. The flooding was first reported on the southbound side of the freeway near 4th Street around 2 a.
