Cameron Bancroft and Daniel Sams were involved in an on-field collision as they both attempted an outfield catch on the run, leading to a lengthy halt in play in the BBL match between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder at Optus Stadium.

Cameron Bancroft broke his nose and shoulder when he collided with team-mate Daniel Sams in the Big Bash League on Friday, Sydney Thunder reveal.

“Sydney Thunder players Daniel Sams and Cameron Bancroft will both be released from hospital this afternoon, following injuries sustained in last night’s exciting victory over the Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium,” the club wrote.
