HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — The shooting death of a woman in Minnesota has sparked nationwide protests and conversation about the Department of Homeland Security’s law enforcement agency and their tactics. Sunday night, a vigil was held in Hastings. Renee Good, 37, was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent on Jan. 7.
The protest stemmed from the Jan. 7 fatal shooting of Minneapolis resident Renee Nicole Good during a confrontation with ICE agents.
Anti-ICE protests in some 60 cities of California were largely peaceful statewide, although marked by moments of tension, anger and sporadic vandalism.
