The FBI Chicago is assisting the Washington Field Office in its investigation into what led to the deadly shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members in Washington, DC. Agents are conducting “authorized law enforcement activity in the Chicago area” concerning the shooting,

The embassy staff members were shot as they exited the Capital Jewish Museum after the American Jewish Committee’s annual Young Diplomats reception.

Authorities are investigating after two Israeli embassy employees were shot and killed in Washington, D.C., Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred outside the Capital Jewish Museum. A suspect shouted “Free, free Palestine” after he was taken into custody, officials said.
