The Missouri House has endorsed a new package of financial incentives to try to keep the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals playing in the state

( Missouri Independent) — Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe’s plan to cover up to half of the cost of a new stadium for the Royals and a refurbished Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs ran into a buzzsaw of bipartisan opposition in the state Senate Tuesday night.

Missouri’s 11th-hour plan to keep the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals in the state centers on bonds and other aid that would pay for up to half the cost of new or upgraded stadiums for the teams. Gov. Mike Kehoe pitched the plan to the House Republicans on Tuesday morning ahead of an anticipated floor debate on the proposal later in the day.
