The Orioles kicked off their trade deadline week by sending left-hander Gregory Soto to the Mets for a pair of pitching prospects.

Soto, 30, originally signed with the Tigers out of the Dominican Republic and pitched in Detroit from 2019 to 2022. He served as the Tigers’ closer for much of his final two seasons and was selected to the All-Star team in both 2021 and 2022.
