Built by Ralph Neville at the end of the 14th century, Penrith Castle is worth a look if you’re in the area. The ruins are free to enter and open at the same times as the surrounding parkFull review by DunelmArts

Went with the family during Easter break. The ruins are great can imagine how it used to be. There is a kids play area at the back with tennis courts and crazy golf.Full review by Andrew H

This castle is good for a quick stop. Parking may be a challenge. One wall of the castle remains. Foundation stones are present in part of the castle, so you can make out some of the rooms.Full review by J-from-Marysville
