We attended the museum as a large group of British ex servicemen on a reunion. The museum is even better than it was the last time I went many years ago. The museum were accommodating to our request … Full review by retiredfirefighter19

This is an absolute "must see" museum. The vehicles here are very well maintained and are shown in a manner that allows nearly unfettered access. The WWII German armor collection is magnificent, and … Full review by DJRaymond211

Great display of tanks from all ages and good information signs. A lot of them, as well. The store was a little letdown, though and could have had better stuff for sale. If you're not into tanks/war… Full review by Sven Ö
How did you get to the museum? Is there train service into the town? We are staying in Cologne and had hoped to take a train to Munster.

The museum is definitely worth the trip, Roy D's advice is spot on. That would be too long of a drive back and forth. The town names can be confusing in several European countries. When I am doing my research for my travel itinerary spreadsheets, I always include not only the town name but also the area or section of the country (similar to our states and counties). We also calculate the time it takes to drive between each location. It makes inputting the correct info into the GPS much easier.
I am planning a trip to Panzermuseum for week of June 3 for my husband. He will be in Berlin. How much time should he allow for train travel to Munster. How much time should he allocate for the Museum itself? Can he do the trip in one long day? Thanks in advance!
A:
yes plan on a long day, 3 hours at the museum and train ride
From Hamburg ( I assume its closest), how do I get to the Panzermuseum and back? Or where would you suggest I stay? As of right now, I am planning a week visit to Germany focused on visiting World War 2 sites. I would like to include the Panzermuseum unless it is extremely out of the way. I will certainly spend time in Munich and Berlin.

I was on holiday and leaving the Bremen area going to a friends home in Gottingham. I went to the museum because I saw a roadsign and followed the signs to the Panzer museum. I stayed in numerous hotels while in Europe, I was fortunate to stay in good places. Sorry I can not suggest one close to the museum. Look here on tripadvisor for a good suggestion for a stay. The museum was well worth the time. Tanks from WW1 to pretty much current models. Good luck and safe travels for you.
