The dogs welcome signage at the cafe is good but signage on nearby walks is misleading. Permanent on lead signs contradict other signs that say dogs only need to be on lead around livestock. Then another hand written sign says cows present from April but has not been removed or covered up once the cows have been moved. If the NT as landowner can't be clear about the facts and requirements it is impossible for dog walkers to know what to do for the best. So what happens is if no cattle in the field, people let their dogs off lead if they have a good recall.
Q:
How much is entry?
A:
It is National Trust side, so for members it is free. If not, it is only a parking fee as we remembered it.
Q:
Is it possible to cycle from Dedham to Flatford Mill by the river?
A:
Yes I would think so but not on a road bike. A mountain bike or possibly hybrid may be ok as long as ground is solid..as in summer
