Hi, after reading all the questions and answers, just wondering if the informaion provided is still current for June, 2023? Also, coming for a day on a cruise, must I buy a ticket for the red line and also the green to visit the Acropolis and Acropoils Museum then return to the port..or is one, green or red, sufficient?

I'm sorry I'm not sure if the two overlap as our wish was to go into Athens. But the Athens bus going from the port into the city instead of going direct takes a scenic coastal route around Piraeus and it is a lovely ride. Had we had another day we would have done the Piraeus tour as well but time did not allow. A tip the most stunning view of Athens is from the Lycabettus hill almost like looking down over the city from a plane. However most buses don, go there, so when you are in the city grab a cab. The cab (For 10 Euros) took us up a switch back narrow road to the walk way to the monastary above. (Short walk) The view is unrivaled. From there you can take a Finicular railway back down to the base and then a walk back down to another hop on hop off stop. At first I thought they'd lied about the railway as I couldn't see it but it's underground. Hope you have a great visit.

The City sightseeing Tour has two routes. One route stops at the port gates of Piraeus and goes to the Acropolis in about 40 minutes. The other route interchanges with this route at the Acropolis and goes past most of the Athens' sights. this takes probably about one hour. The tours do not start till 1000 I think. if you started at about 1000 at Piraeus port you could probably be back there by1230 to 1300 getting off only at the Acropolis. You can buy tickets on the buses but for this you have to buy the two different tours. In October they were giving both tours for the price of one but if not you can buy the other tour on the bus. Another possibility is to get an earlier train from Piraeus to Athens and get to the nearest hop-on hop-off stop by 1000 and only do the Athens tour.

Hi, We will be in Athens fro 12 hours on Sunday October 6 from a cruise ship. We are planing to take the hop on hop off I have a few questions? 1. Is it any stop at the Port? 2. What Bus should we take (Red, Blue or Yellow) we are only interested in the Athens route. I have read that you have to take the blue one and then transfer to the red one? 3. I have read that the map they provide is difficult to read....where can I get a map of the main attractions 4. Does the Athens route offer a walking tour? Thank you very much!
Q:
Do I have to get a separate Acropolis Entry ticket, or is that included when I purchase the RED BUS Tour?
A:
A separate pass is needed.
