Hi Rebecca. I think if your son is interested in history he will enjoy the Musee de la Romanite. Audio guides are available in English, and there are interactive screens where you can also select English. I saw several families there with children. Some of the displays for vision impaired people are also good for kids, as they are objects made for touching. There is a collection of coins to view with magnifying glasses he might find fun. Some days the museum is free, from memory on a Sunday? Enjoy Nimes!

It will be open on Tuesdays from April to November. The website shows: Opening time OPEN EVERY DAY EXCEPT TUESDAYS 5 Nov. to 31 March : 10 am > 6 pm OPEN EVERY DAY 1 April- 4 nov : 10 am > 7 pm Closed on 25 December and 1 January Last entry one hour before the closing time I don’t know about guided tours in English, although the website only mentions those in French - why not send them an email asking about that, they might decide to put some on if people ask.
