Beautiful piece of art history. Neptune, the God of Sea, must have been very important to the sea trade of countries like Italy. These elaborate fountains dedicated to Neptune are impressive.Full review by Peterharris32

Is the water fountain turned off at certain times of the year? I visited Bologna in early March 2019 and while I I assume the restoration works were finished as there were no fences or any sign of work the fountain was not running. This was just after the winter storm had swept through Europe. Could it have been turned off due to that?

The fountain was not fenced in an April when we visited. Perhaps, they are making repairs.
