WEBOct 13, 2021 · My 13 Pro has dual sims (1 eSIM and 1 Physical SIM) The phone was placed in the same position with (Bluetooth Disabled, WIFI Disabled and Mobile Network Off within Settings App) and left overnight. On 15.0.1 software version. 5G Auto set on Both Sims - 4-5% drain within 7 hours. 4G set on Both Sims - 7-8% drain within 7 hours.

The original LTE release missed the mark to qualify as 4G capable, but like you said carriers mismarketed it as "4G LTE" anyways along with HSPA+, a "3.5G" technology (which was an evolution of W-CDMA, which is essentially what people call 3G).

WEBJun 11, 2024 · 5G is designed to work best in crowded places (airports, stadiums, concert happy and such), but in rural areas, at least for now, you may not get good speed benefits vs 4G and will definitely get a poorer battery life. If you want/need it on 5G, just put it on Auto and it will use it whenever there is a good 5G signal. ctjack.

WEBFeb 15, 2022 · It depends on the carrier. In my country, one carrier uses LTE while another uses 4G to indicate LTE connectivity. From a consumer perspective, it's essentially the same thing. I wish Apple provided more granular indicators like Android, where it can show 4G or 4G+ to show a difference between LTE and LTE-A. NoBoMac and BigMcGuire.

WEBJan 19, 2021 · I assume there's another system / algorithm that determines if the speed is "Fast enough" based on where you are as to whether it uses 5G or LTE (just like back in the day, pre-5G, when LTE was less prevalent, something would determine whether to use LTE or switch to 3G because of lack of connectivity / speed).

One thing that T-Mobile has is the 2.5 GHz frequencies that Sprint used for WiMAX. Frequencies in that range will not penetrate buildings easily, whereas 800/850 MHz frequencies could.

WEBJul 8, 2024 · If you are using 5G a lot the 15 might be a better choice, it has a newer version of the Qualcomm modem that might be beneficial if you use 5G a lot. But the 13 and 14 will definitely give you better stand-by time than the 12 mini and they also have a newer 5G modem than the 12 mini, might boost 5G performance and battery time further.

WEBMar 9, 2020 · 4G/LTE has plenty of room for improvement but overhead increases exponentially. 5G (depending on implementation) allows for higher data speeds with less overhead (cost) to the cellular provider. Expect to see similar results as we do now as cellular providers attempt to maximize profit.
