In our recommended CYA range, you shock your pool at about 15ppm of chlorine. At 100ppm CYA, the shock level increases to 39ppm of chlorine.

Try an OTO chlorine test, as OTO does not bleach out. Caution, if the feeder is clogged, then the feeder could be dangerously full of chlorinated gas.
